As part of the Startup Week celebrations happening from Sept. 21-24, the Vancouver Economic Commission (VEC) has partnered with world-class organizations to put on first-rate programming for the startup community. That programming, under the banner of Startup City, will help take Vancouver’s already globally recognized startup ecosystem to the next level. Events within Startup City are addressing the core needs of Vancouver’s startup community – capital and talent – and speak to startups at all stages of growth, from small businesses looking to leverage technology to some of Canada’s biggest success stories in the Tech industry today.

Networked Business Bootcamp – Tickets sales closed.

Every business needs to embrace technology. Come learn the local tools, technologies, and strategies to help your business connect online.Networked Business Boot Camp will help businesses connect socially, identifying the online tools, in-person networks, and local support services that can enhance their operations. Non-tech, low tech startups, SMEs and social enterprises that are looking to grow or evolve their business are all invited to attend!

Tinkerine Drone Workshop – Tickets sales closed.
This workshop is an introduction to 3D printing, and how it can be used to develop micro quadcopters. Each participant will gain hands-on experience using a 3D printer, developing their own design from a library of parts, and assembling electronics to create their very own flying RC quadcopter!
VEF – Unicorn or Bust: Trends in Angel Investing – Tickets sales closed.
Angel investing has evolved significantly over the past decade; as has Vancouver’s startup ecosystem. Join the VEF community to hear from a panel of experts on the changing trends around early stage investing, the internationalization of capital, what angels are now looking forn and how to best engage with the angel community.
