Meg O’Shea
Senior Manager, Economic Transformation
Meg O’Shea, PhD is the Senior Manager of Economic Transformation at the Vancouver Economic Commission (VEC). VEC’s mission is to build a prosperous local economy that is inclusive, resilient, and low carbon. Alongside a top notch team, Meg works to facilitate collaboration between the private and public sectors to grow the circular economy, build local economic resilience, and advance business as a force for good in the world.
Meg earned a PhD from UBC’s Institute for Resources, Environment, and Sustainability studying sustainability at the community scale as a collective embodied practice. With an insatiable curiosity and desire for novel opportunities, she has supported systems change in many arenas including higher education, the commercial sector, textiles and design, the performing arts, and a range of community-based initiatives. Meg is a systems-thinker, a skilled facilitator, an inclusive colleague, and a creative problem solver.
