Our Team
Fionn Li
Analyst, Research and Investment
Fionn Li first joined the Vancouver Economic Commission in May 2019 as a Business Development Officer for VEC’s Asia Pacific Centre, an operational department of VEC. In this role, she leveraged investment opportunities into Vancouver, identified and built relationships with Asian Investors, connected strategic partners together through incoming business delegations and business outreach; and facilitated conversations that lead to ideas, collaboration and partnerships.
Today, Fionn is an analyst on VEC’s research team, focusing on research projects and analyzing major economic indicators for Metro Vancouver, and is the primary project manager of VEC’s flagship Vancouver Economy Report. She brings her business development expertise to the role, supporting both VEC’s strategic programs and initiatives and targeted global investment attraction initiatives while acting also fielding investment attraction queries.
Prior to her VEC career, Fionn worked for several years as the marketing director of a media company, where she managed events promoting Canada–China cross-border trade and investment, managed Fortune World’s bilingual magazine edits and publication, and provided marketing strategy and relationship management with stakeholders and government officials.
Fionn holds a Bachelor of Arts from Simon Fraser University, with a major in Economics and minor in Labour Studies, and an Applied Data Science Certificate from Massachusetts Institute of Technology. A lifelong learner, she continues to study data analysis, appraisal and research methods in her spare time.
