Power. Progress. Change.
These are the words to light our path forward in 2019, and the words of the 108th International Women’s Day.
Today, and every day, the Vancouver Economic Commission (VEC) celebrates the achievements of all women and girls, including trans women, two-spirit and gender-diverse peoples, many of whom still face deep and systemic barriers to attaining economic, cultural, social and political equality. We are proud to join the City of Vancouver – and the many other champions of gender equity in both society and the workforce – in celebrating the accomplishments of women who have overcome these barriers to play leading roles in our society.
We invite you to join us in the fight for inclusion and gender equity for women as we continue to grapple with the gap. A good start is to follow the exploits and leadership of these 80 Canadian Women in Tech.
VEC is proud to be led and supported by powerful, progressive women looking to change the world of economic development for the better. Our CEO, two-thirds of both our Board of Directors and two-thirds of our Senior Management Team are women of diverse backgrounds. VEC’s direction and drive is richer and stronger for it.
