Read our proposal to find out how Vancouver can provide this – and much more – for any company looking to put down roots in our city.

The Vancouver Economic Commission (VEC) and its regional and provincial partners are pleased to present the final proposal submitted to Amazon in response to the tech giant’s much-publicized RFP for the location for their new North American headquarters. The VEC is proud of the metro Vancouver proposal – the result of an unprecedented effort in regional economic development – which fully demonstrates what Vancouver has to offer any business that chooses to make this region its home.

The VEC is pleased to have observed a four-fold increase in the number of FDI leads over the previous year by startups, SMEs and multinational companies seeking to expand their footprint in Vancouver. In the months since the submission of our Vancouver proposal, subsequent inquiries have benefited from the data collected as part of the Amazon HQ2 RFP process.

The VEC looks forward to increased regional collaboration in economic development, foreign direct investment (FDI) attraction, and continuing to support the growth, success and resilience of Vancouver’s diverse 21st century knowledge-based economy. This includes building upon our excellent relationship with Amazon, who have reaffirmed their strong intentions for further investment into the region in conversations held since receiving the metro Vancouver proposal.
