North America’s Largest International Environmental Business Summit
GLOBE 2016 is North America’s largest and longest-running environmental conference, and this year marks a pivotal point in its 25 year history. On the road from Paris and the COP21 Climate Summit, GLOBE is when the world will converge, and take real, tangible action to mitigate climate change. Delegates will help shape future markets, test public policy approaches, strike deals, partner, and collaborate.
Over 2,000 delegates, including investors, corporate buyers, and world leaders are lined-up to attend.

Mentoring Canada’s next generation of leadership
Date: Tuesday, March 1st (in advance of the first day of GLOBE)
Time: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Leading Change is a Canada-wide movement for young environmental and sustainability professionals. The Forum will bring together over 150 young leaders from across the country. ‘Sustainability leadership’ can come from any number of points within a business, not just a department tasked with ‘sustainability’. As a mentor, you would share your experience of being an ‘intrapreneur’ and carving out your own pathway to integrating sustainability into your business.

The Vancouver Enterprise Presents: Carbon Capture, Conversion, and Storage Technologies
Date: Tuesday, March 1st (in advance of the first day of GLOBE)
Time: 5:00 PM – 8:30 PM
As Canada and the rest of the world move to develop low carbon economies, there is an escalating need to find cost-effective technologies to reduce emissions from industrial sources and to develop ways to convert CO2 to high-value products. This national panel will discuss efforts being made to support the development of novel carbon capture and conversion technologies and accelerate the pace of scale-up. Learn more about the technical, economic and market challenges faced by funders, technology developers and industry as they work to improve the economics of capture and support the discovery of new ways to convert emissions into carbon-based products.
An Inside the Boardroom look at the Green and Digital Demonstration Program (GDDP)
Date: Friday, March 4th
Time: 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM
The City of Vancouver and the Vancouver Economic Commission (VEC) recently launched the GDDP, and are hosting an ‘inside-the-boardroom’ event that shows the program in action and how winning proponents are selected. The GDDP provides local entrepreneurs and start-ups the opportunity to use City-owned assets (e.g. buildings, streets, or vehicles), for technology demonstrations and proof-of-concept trials. In this session, you will hear from past participants and witness shortlisted applicants pitch their innovative proposals to senior city staff in a friendly dragon’s den format.
