Khayla Almonte-Davila

Manager, Economic Transformation (Inclusive Workforce Development)

Khayla has merged her business education and passion for social justice to help tackle complex social issues by working with a social innovation and entrepreneurship mindset to help tackle complex social issues. She uses equity-centered design, to develop cyclical, values based, sustainable strategies and create positive impact in communities.

She has taken part in and helped design social innovation labs, worked with startup businesses to develop values-based business models, and built national engagement strategies. Khayla recently worked in the non-profit sector as a program manager at TakingITGlobal, one of the world’s leading networks of young people learning about, engaging with, and working towards tackling global challenges. Her time with TakingITGlobal helped her deepen her connections to community while learning directly from underrepresented groups about their needs. Khayla has also worked in the impact investing field, helping design impact measurement frameworks, and has contributed to the mapping of Canada’s social finance landscape to identify the gaps and opportunities for impact investment intermediaries. This research was used in the inaugural State of Social Finance report, which helped advise the distribution of the Canadian Social Finance Fund.

As the Manager of Economic Transformation (Inclusive Workforce Design), Khayla has the pleasure to design programs, initiatives, and resources focused on economic justice, with the goal of creating an economy that is prosperous for all.
