KPMG’s widely-respected Competitive Alternatives report has ranked Vancouver as the most competitive jurisdiction for business taxes in its 2010 edition 
The report examined over 100 cities across 10 European and North American countries, tracking 26 components that contribute to business costs. Vancouver was found to be one of the most cost-competitive cities. A special annex analyzing business taxation in 41 major cities (with populations of over 2 Million) found Vancouver to be the most tax-competitive jurisdiction, ahead of cities in Canada, the US, Mexico, and 7 other countries. Past analyses have also found that Vancouver is the most cost-competitive city for undertaking research and development activities.
